Join Hawks Prairie Golf Club

On behalf of the Hawks Prairie Men's Club, the Board of Officers would like to welcome you to our club. Now that you have paid your membership dues, you may be wondering what your money is actually getting you. If you have not joined yet, keep reading on and you will see what a great value the Hawks Prairie Men's Club provides.

In an effort to add value to their players card and grow the game of golf, Oki Golf is offering a free handicap service to it's players who renew their Oki Golf Players Card before March 31, 2008.  While the handicap service is recognized by the USGA it does not include a WSGA membership and their GHIN service.  It is, however, the exact same calculations and resulting indexes, along with the same basic computer and on line posting services. Oki golf has extended this benefit to its courses' Men's clubs and The Hawks Prairie Man's Club, specifically, as a way to hopefully attract more members.  Therfore our men's club has adopted three options for our members:  Option 1 is a Men's Club membership including membership to the WSGA and GHIN handicap service for $70 before the 1st event in February or $80 thereafter.  Option 2 is to join usuing the Oki Golf EZ Links Handicap Network for $55.  Option 3 is to join using the Oki Golf EZ Links Handicap Network AND have your OKI Players Card renewed prior to March 31, 2008 for $45.  If you have any questions regarding which service is best for you, please ask one of our friendly professionals, Kevin, Sam, or Trent.

The Washington State Golf Association provides handicapping services to member clubs totaling nearly 94,000 golfers. The handicap vendor for the W.S.G.A. is Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN), a USGA Service. One of the tremendous benefits of GHIN is the network through our state and over sixty other state and regional golf associations that allows golfers to post scores where they play and have those scores routed back to their home club. It also allows other clubs on GHIN to verify handicaps for golfers visiting their club. If you ever have any questions regarding the posting of scores please feel free to ask any of the Pro Shop staff.

By having an established handicap, you are able to play in our mens club events. Starting in February and going on into November, the club holds a series of tournaments for our members at both The Links and The Woodlands. These events are a great way meet and compete with your fellow club members. In addition to these monthly events, the club has a season long match play competition.

Another portion of your membership fee goes to a fund that is used to provide merchandise prizes in these club events. So in addition to wanting to see you participate in the club tournaments for the comradeship and competition, the membership encourages you come out and try to get some "money on the books". Funds won in tournaments go on the pro shop books to be used for pro shop merchandise. These funds need to be used up by the end of the year.

Good luck this season, and once again, welcome.

Sincerely,

Hawks Prairie Men's Club Board of Directors
